The BIM&DIGITAL Award 2025 recognizes the FVG Region

4Days is part of a project that marks an Italian first.

The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region won first prize in the PA and digitization category of the BIM&Digital Award 2025, thanks to the project "Innovation in the network of contracting authorities in the FVG Region: a single CDE in the regional digital ecosystem for integrated procurement management." This recognition highlights the excellence of the regional initiative and the effectiveness of the joint work between public administration and technology partners.

Among these, 4Days , which collaborated alongside the Region and Insiel, contributing to the development of solutions to support the digital information management of procurement.

The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region was in fact the first in Italy to adopt BIM (Building Information Modeling) in a systematic way, gradually involving local stakeholders and institutions.

As part of this process, the Region introduced, through a European tender, the single CDE Truspace, now used by over 284 contracting authorities. The adoption of the CDE has made it possible to standardize the governance of procurement processes, simplify procedures, and ensure the circulation of certified information. Integration with regional digital systems has also made management more secure and innovative, generating economies of scale, streamlining activities, and reducing implementation times. Within a few months of going live, 30 entities are active on the platform, with over 1,000 users involved , 75 contracts managed for more than €400 million, 1,500 IFC models, and 20,000 files.

The process began in 2018 with a comprehensive training program aimed at all contracting authorities. In 2023, the BIM@FVG event then defined the guidelines for the regional approach, involving public and private actors. This marked the start of a trial phase, with pilot projects involving different types of organizations with varying degrees of complexity: Patrimonio FVG for the redevelopment of a restricted area, the Municipality of Trieste for the restoration of the historical library, FVG Strade for work on several bridges, ARPA for the construction of a new headquarters, the Municipality of Cordenons for the construction of a nursery school, and the Municipality of Palmanova for a PNRR project on historical heritage.

During this phase, 4Days actively collaborated with regional structures and Insiel, contributing to the analysis of requirements, operational support, and the definition of the necessary information tools. The findings gathered in the pilot projects were translated into the 2024 European call for tenders, which identified the platform now in operation for all the contracting authorities involved: Truspace.

This model—unique in Italy—and recognized as such by the award's authoritative jury, paves the way for advanced information management and the future application of artificial intelligence, establishing the experience gained and currently underway as a national benchmark.
