CPL Concordia

An application for the integration of BIM and MES.

Overview

The project is triggered by the will of CPL Concordia, one of Italy's largest cooperatives and a leader in the design, implementation and management of technological systems (Hydrogen, Biomethane, Natural Gas Cogeneration Plants and remote control and billing processes), to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its processes through digitization and the deep introduction of BIM.

Project

In 2023, completed the review of organizational processes and introduced the Truspace CDE (customized as "Circle"), the focus was on the workshop, an area in CPL Concordia designated to manage the manufacturing and pre-assembly of energy systems for the various Business Units.

Digitizing the workshop required the initiation of a deep analysis, also extended to the design and logistics phases for a complete reengineering according to BIM standards.

With the goal of realizing a management tool, the project focused on the development of an App dedicated to workshop operations personnel (called "Piping") that allows interaction with 3D models and 2D drawings, both to obtain information and enter operational data in the field (cycle progress, traceability, technical data, testing, photos).

Outcome

With the development of the CDE-integrated Piping App, the operational processes in CPL Concordia were fully digitized in one year, enabling production data to be collected in real time, referenced to parts in 3D models, and completed through an automated process that enriches IFCs with data collected during the production process (As-Built).

Full traceability of the operational process (production and construction site) with every level of detail, dynamically integrated with IFC model metadata, has improved the performance of the operational cycle and resulted in improved data completeness, timeliness and cost.

By bridging the gap between the design and execution phases, the Piping App has facilitated coordination of resources and collaboration among the various project stakeholders, improving communication and information exchange.
