BimO with Truspace for Bologna Airport.
The platform chosen by the group of companies that were awarded the project of the new G. Marconi Airport parking lot.
It is a winning consortium once again that has won the tender to be awarded the contract for the construction of the East Multi-Storey Car Park at Bologna Marconi Airport. For the completion of the airport, the group of companies formed by. AEC Construction, Pichler with BimO for digital BIM coordination of the procurement. To support the digitization process, the group of companies specified Truspace as their digital management solution. A bid that in content and methods was highly rated by the committee, which rewarded the approach, to completeness and degree of innovation.
The project, which is highly anticipated in the city, is an important infrastructure that will respond to the growing passenger traffic at the Bologna airport, helping to decongest the airport and promote its balanced development in the future.
Commenting on the result were Franco Rebecchi - CEO of BimO and longtime 4Days partner - and Marco Lotti, CEO and ultimate point of contact for the 4Days team that will oversee the implementation of the platform, as well as training and consulting activities.
After the Demanio site, another goal in digital management of major public works. What is the first comment?
Franco Rebecchi: "This is a great new project for Bologna. - Rebecchi comments -For us, it represents a point of arrival but also a relaunch toward increasingly ambitious goals. On the subject of digitization and BIM, with 4Days we have defined a new standard, now a reference for the digital management of large projects and infrastructures. And this is thanks to the synergy between our technical expertise in site management and the technology made available by 4Days combined with our vast experience in conducting projects of great complexity."
In what sense can we speak of a new standard?
Franco Rebecchi: "Truspace is a new ecosystem, a digital theater where all stakeholders can be involved in the development of the project at different stages, from design to site management to maintenance. It is not about creating a trivial BIM model, but a real digital twin managed by the different stakeholders through the platform. With Truspace we can connect all the stakeholders around the project in a new process, while at the same time creating the culture to easily use these tools without being BIM experts. Thanks to technology, we have in fact created a new flow of construction-related activities in which each actor in the process is enhanced in his or her role. Like in a big orchestra where everyone can play his own piece and simultaneously follow where the music leads. We will be its conductors."
Is it an approach with extended management time or barriers to entry?
Franco Rebecchi: "It's an easier and faster change than you can imagine. Our goal is to change the culture, involve people, accompanying to change: that's why we are unique in Italy, we combine technology with change management. By putting people and process at the center, we preserve prior skills and enhance them. We also make the work and the construction site safer, saving time and costs."
For 4Days, a new work front involving PA...
Marco Lotti: "As 4Days we cannot but express pride and satisfaction. This project is associated with many others in which we are involved within large public administration contracts and in the process of growing the digital management of the construction world.
On the one hand it insists on intensive PA support activities, and on the other it strengthens its collaboration and ties with BimO, led by Franco Rebecchi with its growing specialization in digital management. As well as with AEC constructions with whom we have in the past managed the important Demanio site.
We are excited to take on a new and exciting project, a large contract involving the PA with whom we have been working extensively on BIM in recent years. This additional win rewards consistent effort and work to support change."
