BIM and public works

High approval for the 4Days - ComPA FVG pathway.

With the traditional closing panel discussion, the latest edition of "BIM and the Evolution of Public Works, "training course organized by 4Days in collaboration with ComPA FVG and funded through the NextPA 2023 training plan, came to a close.

An event that each year gathers an always large class of PA RUPs and technical staff engaged in the digital transformation of their administrations, in a learning journey on methods and tools to effectively introduce the BIM methodology.

This edition again saw increasing participation and feedback, with eighteen members from different entities attending the classroom: FVG Region, EDR Ente Decentramento Regionale Udine, Municipality of Trieste, Municipality of Udine, Mountain Community Canal del Ferro and Val Canale, Municipality of Sacile, Municipality of Sedegliano, Municipality of Cormons, Municipality of Fiume Veneto.

An opportunity, that of the year-end round table, as much to share insights and testimonies of excellence as to outline - each for his or her own role - needs and prospects for development.

Greeting the class were two distinguished guests: Alberto Sdegno, professor and dean of the University of Udine's BIM Master's program, and Lorenzo Verbanaz, an architect and BIM manager based in Trieste. The one - Sdegno - offered a historical and critical perspective on BIM innovation; the other - Verbanaz - offered an in-depth look at applications at different scales of BIM in design. Marco Lotti, CEO of 4Days and coordinating lecturer, on the other hand, carved out a summary outline of the course completed, casting a glance at the prospects under way in the region.

The real protagonists of the round table, however, were the individual participants who shared their high appreciation of the course's contents and modalities, then opening up to themes and reflections, each with a different accent: from those who expressed satisfaction with the in-depth study of the roles they will be called upon to manage, to those who gained confidence about the change taking place with a "no going back"; to those who, although "thunderstruck" by the scenario with great potential, foresee the difficulty of integrating the new processes between workloads and already complex activities. For all the unanimous hope that a regionally coordinated policy will not leave individual administrations alone to manage the operational introduction in individual PAs, even with appropriate tools.

On this very point, Marco Lotti 's speech brought confirmation with respect to a scenario in which the FVG Region has already been active for some time. The focus in recent years on the need for every contracting station to be equipped with a CDE, a pivotal tool for structured management and comparability of experiences, is in fact now a process that has begun.Insiel, in its institutional role of providing the region with information tools to simplify the management of contracting stations, has in fact since March started a experimentation with ten pilot contracting stations, to test the Truspace platform in the management of tenders, a step that will open the tender for the adoption of a single tool in the fall.

The result will be a bouquet of projects that is unique in Italy, reflecting the responsible choice of the region and the digital part Insiel, which has worked to equip itself with a common training network, templates and information specifications to facilitate the RUPs, activities that increase the ability of contracting stations to manage the entrusted activities and assets, effectively. A bouquet of projects that will constitute a wealth of information experience as a real lever of facilitation.

Training will also continue to play an important role in the regional system, with a commitment to support ongoing innovation processes.

So the appointment is for the next editions in September and October (registration is reserved for employees of the regional Unified Fund).
